Tequila Tecnico pays homage to Lucha Libre - a style of professional wrestling that originated in Mexico in the beginning of the 20th century. The sport is much beloved in the Latino culture; its traditions and lore are tightly intertwined with many facets of modern pop culture - music, comic books, movies and art.
In Lucha Libre, there are two different paths for an aspiring wrestler (i.e. "luchador") to take and this decision will define his whole future career. He can become either "rudo" (who is a brawler and a rule-breaker) or "tecnico" (a noble hero of the game, known for his elaborate wrestling techniques). Wrestlers traditionally wear masks that feature intricate designs and these masks become an important part of their identity.
Traditionally elaborated from 100% Highlands Blue agaves, tequila Tecnico is smooth, sophisticated and refined - a tribute to Tecnico's wrestling style. The distillery adheres to time-honored, traditional production methods, which include slow-baking mature agaves in stone ovens for 36 hours and then fermenting the extracted juices for 7 to 10 days by using the proprietary strain of natural yeast.
Tecnico is double distilled in small batches in traditional copper pot stills. While costly and labor-intensive, the traditional elaboration of Blue Agave results in delicate and complex fruity agave flavors. Tecnico Blanco is bottled fresh from the still and has a satiny lightweight body and a lingering finish. Tecnico Reposado is rested for 4 months in slightly charred American oak barrels that were previously used in bourbon production. Tecnico Anejo is barrel-aged for 18 months. The product line is presented in 750 ml, 375 ml and 50 ml bottles.

"Deep golden yellow color. Layered aromas of toasty banana-cherry cream pie, pepper, praline, root beer, and faint anise with a supple, fruity-yet-dry medium-to-full body and a tangy, sweet baking spice, sandalwood and whipped finish. A delicious, spicy wood-driven añejo that will be great with desserts and cigars."Tecnico Anejo, Beverage Testing Institute
"Tecnico Reposado has a lustrous amber hue, a satiny textured body and a spice and citrus bouquet. The palate is a lively, long lasting affair of cocoa, white pepper and toasted oak. From start to finish, this Reposado is a marvelous spirit ideal for sipping neat or using in a classic cocktail."Robert Plotkin, American CocktailsRudo and Tecnico Website →
